The recall was prompted by reports that the lithium-ion batteries in the devices can overheat and ignite, creating a significant risk of fire and burn injuries. To date, the manufacturer has received 1,480 reports of overheating, which have resulted in 15 fires and 350 burn injuries, including the death of an 83-year-old consumer in San Diego, California, in February 2026. These products were sold online via Amazon.com, Ocoopa.com, Ocoopa.net, and Walmart.com between September 2018 and May 2026 for prices ranging from $15 to $60. The recall includes models UT3053, UT3056, ZLS-118, ZLS-118S, ZLS-118D, H01, and H01(PD). Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled units immediately. Owners can seek a full refund in the form of an OCOOPA gift card or the original payment method by contacting OCOOPA Direct. Users must write "RECALLED" on the device and submit a photo of the marking along with the model and batch numbers to the manufacturer's website.
