Shamir Solomon and two others were arrested following a massive street takeover involving over 200 vehicles on Long Island.

Suffolk County police arrested three individuals following a large-scale street takeover on Saturday afternoon. The event featured at least 200 ATVs, dirt bikes, and motorcycles performing stunts and reckless driving across Route 347 in Hauppauge and the Town of Islip. Shamir Solomon, a 22-year-old from Roosevelt, was apprehended in Bay Shore after his ATV became disabled. Solomon was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful speed contest, and reckless driving after being found with a loaded gun. Two other riders, Ave Mongiella and Jahkil Arroyo, were arrested in Hauppauge for reckless driving, reckless endangerment, and unlawfully fleeing a police officer. Police impounded ten vehicles during the operation. While the other riders eventually disbanded, the group regrouped in Brentwood before moving through Bay Shore. Authorities noted that it is not yet clear how the street takeover was organized.
