Four firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling a six-alarm blaze at a Foster City condominium complex.
Firefighters in Foster City battled a massive six-alarm fire at the Spinnaker Cove condominium complex on Sunday afternoon. The blaze began on the first floor of the three-story building at 815 Sea Spray Lane shortly after 2:30 p.m. and quickly spread to the third floor, fueled by hot weather and windy conditions. San Mateo Consolidated Fire Chief Matt Turturici reported that rescue operations were a priority as residents and their pets were evacuated from the building. While no residents were injured, four firefighters suffered minor injuries, including burns and smoke inhalation. Two of the injured firefighters were transported to a told hospital for treatment. The fire was largely contained by Monday morning after crews worked for over 15 hours. The American Red Cross is providing resources to displaced residents at the complex clubhouse. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by local authorities.
