Francesca Hong currently leads the Democratic primary field for Wisconsin governor, according to a new Marquette Law School Poll released Wednesday. The poll shows Hong with 26% of the Democratic vote, followed by former Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes at 15% and Sara Rodriguez at 11%. The survey, conducted from July 8 to 16, revealed that 45% of Democratic voters remain undecided. While Hong maintains her lead, the race has seen recent shifts, including Rodriguez dropping out due to a campaign finance scandal and Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley reentering the race with an endorsement from Governor Tony Evers. On the Republican side, U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany holds a strong lead with 67% support. The poll also identified inflation, illegal immigration, and health insurance as the top three issues for voters. Although Hong is a democratic socialist, she aims to appeal to working-class voters by focusing on practical solutions like public schools and infrastructure.
