Andrew Arrabaca is arrested after setting off fireworks and starting a fire outside a New York City immigration court.

Andrew Arrabaca, a 43-year-old military veteran, was taken into custody Monday morning after deploying an incendiary device outside 26 Federal Plaza in Lower Manhattan. The administration announced that Arrabaca, described as an "anti-ICE rioter," used a combination of gasoline and fireworks to ignite a fire on the building's stairs. During the incident, Arrabaca also fired pellets from an airsoft gun and was armed with a collection of weapons, including axes, knives, and a hammer. The fire occurred in front of the building which houses the New York immigration court and offices for the FBI and ICE. While the flames were quickly extinguished, four people suffered minor injuries, including two government employees and two civilians. FBI Assistant Director in Charge James Barnacle stated that Arrabaca expressed a willingness to harm or kill people during the attack. The suspect arrived with a cart featuring a sign that read "ICE Off Our Streets." New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani called the incident "deeply disturbing" and confirmed that the city will support the ongoing federal investigation.
