Seattle Police Seek Second Suspect in Food Festival Shootout That Left Three Dead and Five Injured
A 15-year-old suspect is currently in custody following a gang-related shootout at the Bite of Seattle food festival that left three people dead and at least four others injured. The shooting occurred during the waning hours of the three-day event, causing a stampede of attendees fleeing for safety. Police Chief Shon Barnes reported that while the 15-year-old was seen firing an untraceable ghost gun into the crowd, the bullets that killed two bystanders did not originate from his weapon. Investigators believe the violence was a targeted confrontation between two factions. Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson announced that the city is working to identify a second suspect, who may have been among those killed. Interim Police Chief Andre Sayles stated that the department is close to identifying at least one more person involved in the gunbattle. The shooting resulted in the deaths of a 19-year-old gunman, a 44-year-old man, and a 56-year-old woman. A 2-year-old boy was among those injured.
