Elon Musk announced that SpaceX will now build its AI services exclusively on Nvidia systems, marking a significant shift toward a virtual monopoly for theAI infrastructure giant in space. During the company's first earnings call as a public entity, Elon Musk stated that the Vera Rubin architecture is the best available AI computer. This move follows SpaceX's reported AI revenue growth of 247% year-over-year, driven by a surge in cloud service agreements and subscriptions for Grok and X. SpaceX plans to deploy the Starmind AI1 satellite compute payload, which will feature Nvidia Rubin GPUs and Vera CPUs. While the company aims to achieve high-efficiency space-based data centers, the project faces logistical challenges, including the need for the Starship rocket to reach orbit and reduce launch costs. Despite a quarterly net loss of $541 million, the company's capital expenditures increased sixfold to $18.4 billion as it aggressively expands its artificial intelligence offerings.
