Alphabet offers $25 billion in new debt to fund aggressive artificial intelligence infrastructure expansion.
Alphabet is seeking to raise $25 billion through a new investment-grade debt offering to support its ambitious artificial intelligence goals. The company is returning to the bond market for the third time in nine months as capital spending plans for AI infrastructure have climbed toward $1 अरब trillion. This move follows a recent increase in Alphabet's 2026 capital expenditure forecast to a range of $195 billion to $205 billion. Because the cost of AI infrastructure is becoming too expensive to fund entirely from internal cash flow, the company is tapping debt markets to bridge the gap. While Alphabet reported its first-ever quarterly negative free cash flow last month, investors have shown a willingness to tolerate this temporary burn in favor of aggressive investment. With a strong balance sheet and one of the largest cash positions in corporate America, Alphabet is borrowing from a position of financial strength to accelerate its growth. The market currently gives management the benefit of the doubt that these investments will produce sufficient AI revenue to justify the costs.
