Jeff Bezos intends to sell 15 million shares of Amazon stock valued at approximately $4.07 billion.
Jeff Bezos filed a Form 144 with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, indicating his intent to sell 15 million shares of Amazon common stock through Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC. The proposed transaction, valued at approximately $4.07 billion, involves shares acquired as founder stock during the company's original issuance. This sale was pre-scheduled under a Rule 10b5-1 plan adopted in November 2025, making the timing of the sale independent of Amazon's recent milestone of crossing $3 trillion in market capitalization. Amazon reported strong second-quarter results, with revenue reaching $200.61 billion and earnings per share of $5.75, significantly exceeding analyst expectations. However, the headline earnings beat was partially inflated by a non-cash mark-to-market gain on the company's Anthropic stake. Despite the sale, Amazon shares closed at $284.02 on Monday, up 4.58% for the day. The administration of the company's growth remains strong, as AWS revenue grew 37% year-over-year, marking its fastest pace in 18 quarters.
