American Airlines and Citi Refresh the Citi / AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard with New Benefits and a Higher Annual Fee
American Airlines and Citi are launching a refreshed version of the Citi / AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard beginning August 23. The new version of the card features a $695 annual fee, an increase from the previous $595. The update includes expanded statement credits, higher earning rates, and new partner benefits with Omni Hotels & Resorts and Avis. Scott Long, Senior Vice President of AAdvantage at American Airlines, stated that the goal was to provide premium benefits while keeping the card simple to use. The refreshed card continues to offer unlimited access to over 100 Admirals Club lounges, which remains a core feature of the card. Additionally, cardmembers can now earn up to 40,000 bonus Loyalty Points at four milestones during the qualification year, doubling the previous maximum. While the refresh offers substantial potential value for frequent flyers, the administration of the card's benefits is designed to favor those who actively use the partner credits. For travelers who primarily want lounge access, the card remains a competitive option compared to other airline-branded cards.
