Julia Hoggett of LSEG announced the launch of London Stock Exchange 24, a new 24/5 trading venue to support digital and algorithmic trading.

Julia Hoggett, CEO of LSE plc and Head of Digital and Securities Markets, announced that the London Stock Exchange will launch LSE 24, a new trading venue operating nearly continuously from Monday to Friday. The venue is designed to provide global investors with greater flexibility to manage risk and access liquidity across different time zones. LSE 24 will operate separately from the London Stock Exchange’s Main Market, which will maintain its existing trading hours. The new venue will offer client testing by the end of 2026, with Exchange Traded Products scheduled to launch in the first half of 2027, pending regulatory approval. The infrastructure will support the next generation of agent-based trading by integrating with LSEG’s Digital Securities Depository. This system aims to digitize issuance and settlement while providing secure connectivity for automated workflows. Julia Hoggett stated that the launch reinforces London’s position as a leading global financial center by providing deeper liquidity and broader participation in the markets.
