In a Truth Social post, President Trump stated that Graham has been a "winner all of her life" and urged her to run to honor her brother's legacy. While Graham was initially seen as a placeholder, she has impressed colleagues, with Senator Tim Scott noting she is off to a "remarkable start." The special primary election is scheduled for August 11. Although several high-profile politicians, including Rep. Ralph Norman and Rep. Nancy Mace, are considering the seat, Graham's candidacy is bolstered by the president's influence. She will face Democrat Annie Andrews in the general election if she secures the Republican nomination.
