Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russia launched one of the largest ballistic missile attacks of the war against the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv.

Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia launched a massive combined strike against Ukraine, utilizing over 120 attack drones and more than 40 missiles of various types. The capital city of Kyiv served as the primary target for the overnight bombardment. Ukraine’s air force reported that defenses neutralized 126 targets, including 108 unmanned aerial vehicles and 18 missiles. The strikes resulted in at least one death and 16 injuries within the city. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that several districts suffered damage, including fires in residential buildings, shattered windows, and a warehouse set ablaze. The Lukianivska metro station was temporarily closed due to an explosion at its above-ground entrance. President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that protection against ballistic missiles remains a top priority for the nation. He expressed gratitude to international partners for ensuring the delivery of anti-ballistic capabilities, noting that these interceptors are saving lives during massive Russian attacks. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called for continued pressure on Moscow through increased sanctions to end the ongoing conflict.
