Jenitar Sau Na'amoana gave birth to a rare set of identical quadruplets in Brisbane, Australia.
Jenitar Sau Na'amoana and her husband Jortham welcomed four identical daughters on July 14 in a rare medical event. The babies, named Emily, Harriet, Catherine, and Alexa, were born via C-section at 28 weeks and four days following a high-risk pregnancy. The quadruplets are monozygotic, meaning a single fertilized egg split into four embryos. Dr Alexa Bendall, the maternal fetal medicine specialist who monitored the pregnancy, noted that the odds of such a spontaneous occurrence are approximately one in 15 million. This specific birth may be the first of its kind in Australia. The family already has four children aged between one and 10 years old. To accommodate the growing family, Jenitar Sau Na'amoana has launched an online fundraising campaign to purchase a 10-passenger van. The newborns are currently thriving in the neonatal intensive care unit until they reach full term.
