Jenitar Sau Na'amoana gives birth to a rare set of identical quadruplet daughters in Australia.

Jenitar Sau Na'amoana, 34, gave birth to four identical quadruplet daughters via cesarean section at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital on July 14. The babies, named Emily, Harriet, Catherine, and Alexa, were naturally conceived from a single fertilized egg that split into four embryos. Dr. Alexa Bendall, the maternal fetal medicine specialist who oversaw the pregnancy, described the birth as "unheard of" because the four girls shared a single placenta. While the odds of naturally conceiving identical quadruplets are estimated at 1 in 15 million, this specific occurrence is considered a rare milestone for the hospital. The pregnancy was classified as extremely high-risk, leading to Jenitar Sau Na'amoana being admitted as an inpatient at 25 weeks. She delivered the healthy babies at 28 weeks and four days. The newborns are currently thriving in the neonatal intensive care unit. Jenitar Sau Na'amoana and her husband, Jortham, already had four children and have launched a fundraising campaign to purchase a large van for their growing family.
