Tyson Foods Inc. reports strong third-quarter results and projects a beef segment operating loss for 2026.
Tyson Foods Inc. reported strong third-quarter results, highlighted by a 39% increase in GAAP operating income compared to the prior year. Donnie King, president and chief executive officer of Tyson Foods, noted that the growth was driven by the continued strength of the Chicken and Prepared Foods segments. While the company's overall revenue grew by 3.1% over the first nine months of the year, the beef segment is projected to face an operating loss of $500 million to $650 million in fiscal 2026. Conversely, the company anticipates positive operating income from its pork, chicken, and international segments. The administration announced that domestic protein production is expected to increase by approximately 1% in fiscal 2026. Tyson Foods Inc. remains confident in its ability to achieve long-term growth through a disciplined execution of its branded food products strategy, maintaining liquidity above its minimum target of $1.0 billion.
