Jackie the bald eagle remains in critical condition at the Ojai Raptor Center following a territorial fight with two subadult eagles.

Jackie is currently undergoing intensive rehabilitation at the Ojai Raptor Center after being rescued from a territorial altercation with two subadult eagles. The beloved bald eagle, famous for appearing on the Big Bear Valley Eagle Nest Cam, is in critical condition due to severe anemia and kidney inflammation. The Ojai Raptor Center reported that while the eagle is alert and eating, veterinary teams are conducting further diagnostic tests to determine the exact cause of her condition. Experts are currently checking for environmental factors, including lead poisoning, rodenticides, and zinc levels. The eagle was discovered grounded near Big Bear Lake after using her talons to fend off the younger birds. She was eventually stabilized by the San Dimas Raptor Rescue team and transported to the specialized facility. While her recovery may take several weeks, her surviving eaglets, Sandy and Luna, are now old enough to fly independently with some assistance from her partner, Shadow.
