BYD reports a significant acceleration in new energy vehicle sales growth during July 2026.
BYD reported a significant acceleration in new energy vehicle sales growth during July 2026, with wholesale sales reaching 419,211 units. This represents a 21.76% year-on-year increase, marking the third consecutive month of growth and a sharp recovery from the slump experienced earlier in the year. Overseas demand served as the primary driver of this rebound, with international sales of passenger vehicles and pickups hitting a record 179,841 units, accounting for 43% of the total monthly volume. Conversely, domestic sales in China saw a narrower decline of approximately 9% year-on-year. In the domestic market, flash charging models like the Da Tang and Tai 7 EV continued to perform well despite the slow season. The company noted that while production capacity for the second-generation Blade Battery is increasing, it still struggles to meet high demand. While the company's cumulative sales for 2026 remain below last year's levels, the narrowing decline in growth indicates a successful navigation of production bottlenecks. BYD stated that its cumulative new energy vehicle sales have now surpassed 17.3 million units.
