A Chicago police SWAT officer was among at least four people shot during a domestic incident in the Albany Park neighborhood on Monday morning. The shooting occurred at approximately 11:11 a.m. in the 4600 block of North Springfield Avenue. According to police sources, a male suspect shot a female in the face before barricading himself inside a home with a 13-year-old child. During the confrontation, the SWAT officer was also struck by gunfire. The officer and the female were transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, while two other individuals were taken to area hospitals in unknown conditions. The Chicago Fire Department confirmed that all four people were transported for treatment, though the two additional victims were not believed to have been shot. Ald. Rossana Rodriguez reported that the suspect was taken into custody by Monday afternoon. A large contingent of officers remains at the scene as the investigation continues.
