ChangXin Memory Technologies becomes China's most valuable listed company following a blockbuster IPO debut.
ChangXin Memory Technologies became the most valuable company listed in mainland China after its shares soared over 500 percent on its market debut. The Hefei-based firm raised approximately 8.6 billion dollars, making it the largest tech share sale in the country. This performance positions ChangXin Memory Technologies as a primary challenger to global leaders like Samsung Electronics and Micron. Driven by high demand for artificial intelligence servers, the company's DRAM chips are being tested by major manufacturers, including Apple. The administration of China is increasingly prioritizing domestic hardware to achieve semiconductor self-sufficiency. While the company's technology currently lags behind global leaders, domestic internet giants are expected to drive robust adoption of the chips. The IPO proceeds will be used to expand production capacity and research and development. Analysts suggest that while current margins are high due to a supply-demand imbalance, the company is well-positioned to become a global champion in the memory chip sector.
