Speaking at the flagship event, Xi Jinping urged nations to embrace open-source AI and work together to prevent "new historical injustices" for developing countries. The conference highlighted China's growing influence in the tech sector, where the nation showcased over 400 humanoid robot products. While the United States remains a primary rival in the "Chip War," China currently holds advantages in data center capacity, rare earth mineral production, and electricity supply. To solidify its leadership, China recently announced the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organisation (WAICO), a coalition of 29 nations including Russia and Brazil. Xi Jinping emphasized that AI development should be a "symphony of international cooperation" rather than a solo performance. By spearheading these global policies, Beijing aims to shape international regulations and secure buy-in from the Global South, positioning itself as a primary leader in the evolving global AI order.
