The storm is currently equivalent to a Category 3 hurricane, and is forecast to weaken to Category 1 strength before making landfall in Zhejiang Province by Monday morning. While the Western Pacific region has already accumulated 165.6 ACE energy, the Atlantic region shows lower activity. The FOX Forecast Center indicates that an active season is typically classified by an ACE value above 159.6. Currently, the Pacific Basin is on notice with two new areas to watch emerging around Mexico and Hawaii, though development over the next week is likely to remain low.
