Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Inc. sold the Maple Street Biscuit Co. restaurant chain to Biscuit Belly to sharpen its focus on the core brand and improve profitability. The administration of the company announced the sale on July 20, noting that Biscuit Belly will acquire the assets of 35 Maple Street locations, while the remaining 16 will be closed. The company expects to recognize noncash charges of $37 million to $39 million in the current quarter due to the divestment. Cracker Barrel CEO Julie Masino stated that the move demonstrates progress toward strategic priorities and a better fiscal outlook for 2026. Biscuit Belly, a privately held company based in Louisville, Kentucky, plans to convert the acquired sites into its own "gourmet biscuit sandwich concept." While Cracker Barrel sold 35 sites, Biscuit Belly confirmed it is acquiring 34. The company aims to reach 60 locations across the Southeast by the end of 2028, beginning with conversions in Fleming Island and San Marco.
