Sid Tenneti confirms that CVS Pharmacy will now dispense common prescription medications for dogs and cats at over 9,000 locations.

Sid Tenneti, senior vice president and interim president of Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness at CVS Health, announced that CVS Pharmacy is now dispensing select prescription medications for dogs and cats at more than 9,000 locations nationwide. The expansion allows pet owners to fill common prescriptions, including antibiotics, allergy medications, flea and tick treatments, insulin, and pain relievers, at the pharmacy. Pet owners can access these medications by presenting a written prescription from a veterinarian or by having the veterinarian send the prescription directly to the pharmacy. The service includes convenient features such as automatic refills, prescription synchronization, and home delivery for eligible medications. Customers can also manage their pets' prescriptions through the CVS Health app or by adding their pets to their online profiles. Sid Tenneti stated that the move allows the pharmacy to serve every member of the family. The company noted that pet medication prices are comparable to those found at a veterinarian's office. Additional features, such as electronic prescribing for veterinarians, are expected to launch in the coming months.
