David Crowley reenters the Wisconsin Democratic gubernatorial primary after receiving a major endorsement from outgoing Governor Tony Evers.

David Crowley has reentered the Wisconsin Democratic primary for governor after briefly withdrawing his candidacy to support Sara Rodriguez. The Milwaukee County executive returned to the race on Saturday, bolstered by a high-profile endorsement from outgoing Governor Tony Evers. Evers, who initially declined to endorse a specific candidate, stated he is now "all in" for Crowley, citing the executive's leadership experience in job creation and budget management. Crowley, who would become the state's first Black governor if elected, aims to build a broad coalition to secure the party's victory in the swing state. The move follows the sudden departure of Sara Rodriguez from the race due to a campaign finance scandal. Democrats are seeking to win the governorship and flip the state legislature, which Republicans have controlled since 2011. Crowley faces off against several opponents, including democratic socialist Francesca Hong. Republican Representative Tom Tiffany, who faces little primary opposition, described Crowley as the best chance to stop a socialist agenda in Wisconsin.
