Brendan Glavin reports that President Trump’s allies have stockpiled over $400 million in a super PAC to fund upcoming election advertisements.
Brendan Glavin, director of insights for Open Secrets, highlighted that the MAGA Inc. super PAC has secured more than $400 million to run advertisements ahead of the November elections. This fund, which can spend unlimited amounts of money, currently holds more cash than the Republican and Democratic parties have combined. The administration announced that the super PAC will begin spending its resources "very soon" to help the GOP maintain control of the Senate and win the House. While the Democrats are currently trailing in total cash, the super PAC provides a significant advantage for the Republican party. Major contributions came from billionaires like Miriam Adelson and Diane Hendricks, as well as the cryptocurrency industry. Despite the massive financial advantage, some analysts suggest that President Trump must still overcome waning popularity. While the super PAC can influence voters through advertisements, the administration must still contend with a public that is currently less optimistic about the economy than they were during his previous terms.
