Josh D'Amaro Outlines Disney's Strategic Shift Toward a Unified Digital Ecosystem and Streaming Growth
Josh D'Amaro, the CEO of The Walt Disney Company, reported fiscal third-quarter results that highlight a significant shift toward a digital-centric business model. The administration announced that Disney+ will serve as the company's "digital centerpiece," evolving into a comprehensive membership ecosystem that integrates games, merchandise, and other experiences by spring 2027. This transformation is supported by strong streaming performance, with Disney+ and Hulu's combined profit more than doubling to $712 million, while entertainment streaming revenue grew 11% to $5.5 billion. The administration announced that the company is also restructuring its Consumer Products division to align more closely with the Studios' creative teams. Starting in October 2026, the majority of operations will move from Disney Experiences to Disney Entertainment Studios. This reorganization aims to create stronger cohesion between storytelling and commerce. Despite mixed results in some areas, such as softer theme park attendance in Asia, the company remains optimistic about its growth trajectory, forecasting double-digit adjusted earnings per share growth for fiscal 2027.
