Bill Galvin Urges Massachusetts Voters to Use Drop Boxes for Primary Ballots
Massachusetts Secretary of State Bill Galvin advised voters to use drop boxes for the upcoming primary election on September 1. With over 100,000 ballots currently out, Galvin stated that mailing ballots is now risky because there is no guarantee they will arrive in time for the 8 p.m. deadline. Instead, Galvin recommended that voters take their ballots to local drop boxes, early voting sites, or city and town halls. For those who prefer to vote in person, polls will open at 7 a.m. on Tuesday. The primary election will see voters select candidates for the statewide general election on November 3. While marquee races for the U.S. Senate and Governor’s Office are the main headlines, several other races are also active. Notable contests include a rematch between Marjorie Decker and Evan MacKay for the House, and a primary for the Senate seat held by Nick Collins, who faces a challenge from Latoya Gayle. Other races include Will Brownsberger against Daniel Lander, and Angelo Puppolo against Michael Lachenmeyer.
