A 24-year-old male pedestrian was injured after a police chase involving a stolen red Toyota sedan in Rogers Park.

Chicago police officers spotted a stolen red Toyota sedan in the 7400 block of North Sheridan Road at approximately 7:14 p.m. on Friday. When officers attempted to pull the vehicle over in the 2000 block of West Birchwood Avenue, the driver fled the scene and collided with an unmarked Chicago Police Department vehicle. Following the collision, the Toyota struck a light-colored Volkswagen SUV, which was pushed onto a curb and into a 24-year-old male pedestrian. The 24-year-old male pedestrian was taken to St. Francis Hospital in fair condition. The 25-year-old male driver of the Volkswagen SUV was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital in good condition. Two Chicago police officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital. The driver and passenger of the stolen Toyota were placed into custody, and charges are pending.
