A 56-year-old Dixon woman and a 65-year-old Vacaville man died in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 80.

A 56-year-old Dixon woman and a 65-year-old Vacaville man died in a single-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon in Solano County. The California Highway Patrol received a 911 call around 12:28 p.m. regarding a vehicle veering off eastbound Interstate 80 near the Highway 113 interchange. Investigators determined that a 2011 Infiniti FX35 SUV left the roadway for unknown reasons and crashed into a right-shoulder embankment. The Dixon woman, who was driving the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Vacaville man, who was the passenger, suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead in an ambulance while being transported to a hospital. A witness reported that the driver appeared to be asleep at the wheel just before the vehicle left the roadway. Investigators are currently working to determine if alcohol, drugs, or a medical emergency contributed to the crash. The identities of the victims have not yet been released as authorities are still notifying families.
