Indianapolis Metropolitan Police investigate early Sunday morning shooting that left two men injured in downtown.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in downtown Indianapolis. Officers patrolling near East South Street and South Meridian Street heard multiple gunshots around 3:45 a.m. Upon arrival, police found two men with stable gunshot wounds. During the investigation, officers detained four people and recovered four guns from the scene, including two found in a nearby trash can. One individual was seen holding a gun while fleeing the area, while another vehicle containing a woman was searched and yielded a second firearm. Detectives are currently working to oversee the involvement of the four detained individuals in the shooting. Police also reported a separate shooting on the northwest side of Indianapolis near North High School Road. A person was shot just before 3:30 a.m., and another individual with a gunshot wound was reported to have walked into a local hospital at 3:53 a.m. Authorities believe these two victims may be associated with the same shooting incident.
