Jake Lang Leads Anti-Muslim Rally in Dearborn, Resulting in 22 Arrests
Jake Lang, a far-right activist, led a large anti-Muslim demonstration in Dearborn, Michigan, on Tuesday. Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the Henry Ford Centennial Library for a city council meeting, where Lang and other supporters expressed concerns over the influence of Sharia law and the perceived favoritism toward Muslim populations. During the event, riot police managed the crowd to allow the city council to complete its business. While most protesters were peaceful, 22 people were arrested for various misdemeanors, including disorderly conduct and breach of peace. Local officials defended the city's diversity. Mayor Abdullah Hammoud noted that while some out-of-town agitators like Lang may disrupt the community, the city remains a welcoming place for all faiths. City Councilman Bob Abraham also praised the city's diversity, suggesting that visitors from outside the area can see through the messaging of the protesters. Local businesses reported an increase in foot traffic following the rally, showing continued community support for the Dearborn area.
