Terry Strada Pleads for Saudi Accountability During 25th Anniversary of 9/11 Attacks

Terry Strada, the widow of 9/11 victim Thomas Strada, delivered a public plea for Saudi Arabia to be held accountable for its alleged role in the September 11 terrorist attacks during a 25th-anniversary ceremony in New York City. Speaking at the memorial, Strada accused successive administrations of protecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia instead of supporting the families of the victims. She urged President Trump to tell Saudi leaders to stop denying the evidence of their involvement and to stand with the families and survivors. While the administration announced that it is working to identify records responsive to the families' requests, the Saudi government continues to deny any role in the attacks. The families' claims center on two Saudi nationals, Omar al-Bayoumi and Fahad al-Thumairy, who provided material assistance to hijackers Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar. A federal judge recently ruled that the families have presented sufficient evidence to move toward a trial, though the ruling did not determine that Saudi Arabia was responsible for the attacks. The ceremony was attended by several former presidents and Vice President JD Vance. President Trump will commemorate the anniversary separately at the Pentagon.
