Alice Stilwell and Robert Barr Jr. killed in head-on crash involving a stolen Mercedes G-Wagon in Mays Landing
Alice Stilwell and Robert Barr Jr. were killed in a head-on collision on Route 50 in Mays Landing, New Jersey, after a stolen Mercedes G-Wagon crossed the center line and struck their sedan. The crash occurred early Saturday morning, sending the victims' vehicle into a nearby gas station. The victims, both residents of Egg Harbor Township, were identified as 67-year-old Stilwell and her 54-year-old partner, Barr. Police from multiple municipalities attempted to stop the stolen vehicle throughout the morning. Longport police first attempted a traffic stop at 3:42 a.m., but the driver fled. The vehicle was later spotted by Egg Harbor Township police in a Walmart parking lot and again by Hamilton Township police before the final collision. Nayshaun Brown, an 18-year-old from Atlantic City, and three juveniles were charged in connection with the incident. Prosecutors believe Brown was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash. The four suspects were apprehended shortly after the vehicle collided with the victims' car and attempted to flee on foot.
