José Alberto Suárez and four other Americans killed in Kenya helicopter crash
Five Americans were killed in a helicopter crash in northern Kenya on Wednesday morning. The aircraft, a Eurocopter EC130 B4, crashed in the foothills of Mount Ololokwe in Samburu County while transporting guests from the Loisaba Conservancy to the Ewaso Nyiro area. José Alberto Suárez, a prominent journalist and president of multiple Telemundo stations, was among the victims. Other American casualties included Miami restaurateur Roger Edward Duarte, and the married couple Henry Parra and Adam Martin Hlavaty. The crash also claimed the lives of Ecuadorian national intelligence chief Michele Sensi-Contugi and his wife, Stephany Maria Hollihan Vasconez, along with Kenyan pilot Josh Outram. The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority is currently investigating the cause of the crash. Search and recovery efforts have been hampered by difficult terrain and an active fire at the site. The U.S. Embassy is providing consular assistance to the families of the deceased.
