Chad Hickman Killed in Michigan Shooting Spree That Left Five People Dead and One Injured
Chad Hickman, a 39-year-old man, was found dead in a wooded area after a series of shootings in Missaukee County, Michigan, that resulted in the deaths of five people. Police responded to a home on South LaChance Road where they discovered three deceased individuals—a 45-year-old man, a 40-year-old woman, and a 16-year-old boy—alongside a 13-year-old girl who was transported to the hospital in critical condition. After Hickman fled the initial scene, a large-scale search was conducted. Authorities subsequently found a fourth victim, a 53-year-old man, at a separate home. Hickman was eventually located in a woods near Whitlock Lake, where he was found dead alongside a 29-year-old woman. Neighbor Tim Penrose reported that Hickman was a former landlord who had been frequently harassing and making threats of violence against him. While the investigation into a possible motive remains ongoing, Michigan State Police are currently processing the three active crime scenes to determine the full details of the tragedy.
