Kenneth Williams Sr., a 67-year-old security guard, was shot and killed during a confrontation with law enforcement in Gary, Indiana. The incident occurred on Friday night near the metro station at Broadway and 4th Avenue. Officers from the Gary Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of Williams exhibiting unusual and erratic behavior. After attempting to de-escalate the situation, nine officers exchanged gunfire with Williams. Six officers from the Gary Police Department and three from the Lake County Sheriff's Department discharged their weapons. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene. All nine officers involved have been placed on administrative leave according to agency policy. Indiana State Police detectives are currently investigating the shooting. The family of Kenneth Williams Sr. is seeking answers regarding the circumstances of the incident.
