Kathy Hochul Opens New Agricultural Building at the Great New York State Fair

Governor Kathy Hochul joined state officials on Wednesday to cut the ribbon on a new 10,500-square-foot building designed to showcase agricultural education at the Great New York State Fair. The facility is part of a $34.7 million investment in agricultural infrastructure, with the state committing a total of $119 million to fairground improvements since 2021. The new building provides exhibition and conference space for students to showcase their work and connect with the public. Opening day attendance reached 66,898 people, marking the highest opening day turnout in three years. This figure is more than double the attendance of last year, which was hampered by poor weather. The fair features various new attractions, including the Chevrolet Music Series and several new food vendors offering unique items like deep-fried burgers and pickle flights. The event runs through Monday, September 7, September 2026.
