Polish President Karol Nawrocki expressed deep sorrow following a bus crash in Hungary that killed 12 people and injured several others. The accident occurred early Sunday morning on the M3 motorway near the town of Mezokeresztes, where a passenger bus carrying Polish tourists overturned into a ditch. Police reports indicate the driver likely fell asleep, causing the vehicle to veer off the road. The bus was carrying 59 people from Poland’s southeastern Podkarpackie region who were returning from a pilgrimage in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar offered condolences to the families of the victims and thanked the rescue workers. The Polish Foreign Ministry confirmed that all passengers and drivers were Polish citizens. At least 10 people were seriously injured in the crash, and several passengers were trapped under the vehicle when it overturned.
