Theo Francis reports that major U.S. corporations are receiving significant refunds on illegal tariffs struck down by the Supreme Court.

The administration announced that U.S. Customs and Border Protection is distributing approximately $100 billion in reimbursements to businesses for tariffs struck down by the Supreme Court. Theo Francis reported that large corporations like FedEx, Amazon, and Nike are receiving hundreds of millions of dollars in refunds, with some companies reporting that they are getting back nearly everything they paid. While logistics firms like UPS, FedEx, and DHL are passing refunds directly to customers who paid duties, major retailers like Amazon and Costco are more selective. Amazon CFO Brian Olsavsky stated the company will issue refunds only in specific cases where costs can be traced directly to consumers. Other retailers plan to use the refund money to lower future prices. Consumers have filed over 80 class-action lawsuits to recover costs, but legal experts suggest it will be difficult to prove that specific price hikes were caused solely by tariffs rather than other market forces.
