Neighbors first spotted Glass in the home in March 2024. While the bank holding the mortgage does not yet have the authority to remove him because a foreclosure sale has not been completed, the Queens Surrogate's Court has appointed a Public Administrator to represent the property. The administrator filed documents to remove the illegal occupant, and Glass was served with a notice to attend a court hearing in July. However, no one appeared for the hearing. Glass has a history of being a serial squatter. In 2018, he was sentenced to five years of probation for taking over a vacant home in Nassau County and renting it out to three people.
