Miri Regev orders Labor Court action to end 'bullying' strike at Ben Gurion International Airport

Transportation Minister Miri Regev has ordered the Airports Authority to petition the Labor Court to end a surprise strike at Ben Gurion International Airport. The strike, which began at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, halted check-in counters and disrupted passenger services during the peak summer travel season. While the strike was originally scheduled for Wednesday to disrupt Miri Regev's flight to Morocco, it shifted to Thursday, causing significant operational delays. The Finance Ministry estimated the damage from the strike to be between NIS 25-30 million, citing lost revenue and increased costs for airlines and travelers. The Airports Authority demanded that employees immediately cease all actions harming regular work. Transportation Ministry Director General Moshe Ben Zaken stated that the ministry is investigating the incident and warned of harsh action against those responsible. The strike was characterized as an 'Italian' strike, where workers technically comply with rules but slow down the pace of work to signal dissatisfaction with management.
