Boeing awarded $131.23 billion contract to produce and modernize F-15 fighters for U.S. and foreign customers

The Air Force awarded Boeing a sole-source contract with a $131.23 billion ceiling to produce, modernize, and sustain F-15 fighters through 2037. Designated as F-15 Eagle Crest, the agreement allows the Air Force to place orders over time rather than committing to a fixed number of aircraft at signing. The contract covers production, upgrades, retrofits, and sustainment for the Air Force, the Air National Guard, and several foreign military sales partners, including Japan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Singapore, and Indonesia. Poland is also listed as a potential beneficiary, though Boeing confirmed that no procurement decision has been made by Poland yet. While the contract caps the potential spending, it does not commit the government to the full amount immediately. Only $343,740 was obligated at award for research and development. The deal also includes work to establish organic depot maintenance in St. Louis, allowing the Air Force to perform its own heavy overhauls. This contract marks a significant win for Boeing, which has recently returned to profitability in its defense business after a period of years of losses.
