Archer Aviation and AEG Partner to Build Downtown Los Angeles Vertiport for 2028 Olympics
Archer Aviation and AEG have announced a partnership to develop a vertiport in downtown Los Angeles at the L.A. Live complex. This facility will serve as a takeoff and landing site for Archer Aviation's electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, specifically the Midnight model. The project aims to provide a new transportation option for the 2028 Olympic Games, with the goal of turning hourlong ground commutes into 10-to-20-minute flights. Archer Aviation is the official air taxi provider for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Midnight aircraft can carry four passengers and travel at speeds up to 150 mph. While the company is currently undergoing the Federal Aviation Administration's certification process, the goal is to achieve pricing comparable to Uber Black. Market analysts suggest that while Archer Aviation's stock may appear undervalued based on price-to-book multiples compared to the broader aerospace industry, the final valuation depends on the administration's ability to scale the network and manage execution risks.
