Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán and IDU Director Orlando Molano Oversee Partial Opening of the Venice Bridge

Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán and IDU Director Orlando Molano oversaw the partial opening of two of the three branches of the Venice Bridge on Monday, August 31. This infrastructure project is part of Group 1 of the Avenue 68 corridor. The new Traffic Management Plan allows Transmilenio buses to circulate on the straight branch in both directions, while mixed traffic and SITP zone buses use the central branch in an easterly-northerly direction. This configuration allows vehicles to connect to Avenue 68 without entering the Venice neighborhood, reducing congestion for residents and merchants. The bridge, which consists of three branches approximately 330 meters each, reached 98.84% progress by August 24, 2026. While the full habilitation of the bridge is projected for December 2026, the current distribution of flows is provisional. The District Secretariat for Mobility is monitoring the traffic behavior to identify necessary adjustments to traffic light frequencies and other flow distributions.
