Drake Lee Milam, Angela Christine Garrett, and Porsche Roschell Bancroft are accused of breaking into mausoleum niches across the eastern United States to steal jewelry and family heirlooms. The trio, consisting of a mother, daughter, and boyfriend, traveled to various states including Florida, Texas, and New York to remove valuables from the remains of the deceased. Law enforcement agencies are urging the public to inspect their loved ones' burial sites, as many families may not yet realize they have been victimized. In Florida alone, 20 cases of theft have been identified, with valuables totaling $35,000 discovered missing from cemeteries in Orange, Seminole, and Hillsborough counties. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reported that the thieves targeted glass-front niches containing urns of cremated remains and mementos. While the dollar amount of the stolen items is significant, authorities emphasized that the loss of cherished family heirlooms from a final resting place is deeply painful for the families involved.
