Amazon cargo plane crash at Miami International Airport leaves five people dead and five others injured

Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava stated that rescue crews arrived at the scene within seconds of the crash. Fire Chief Raied Jadallah reported that three of the injured victims were in critical condition and were transported to a local hospital. Several victims were trapped inside or under the vehicles struck by the airplane, requiring technical rescue personnel to extricate them. The Federal Aviation Administration issued a full ground stop at the airport while first responders assessed the scene. The aircraft, a Boeing 767-300, departed from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Amazon expressed condolences to the victims and stated they are working closely with the National Transportation Safety Board to investigate the cause of the crash. Boeing also extended its condolences and noted that the aircraft was originally a passenger plane before being converted to a freighter.
