Amazon Plans to Expand Prime Air Drone Delivery Service to Nearly 500 U.S. Cities by 2026

Amazon plans to expand its Prime Air drone delivery service to nearly 500 cities and towns across the United States by the end of 2026. The administration announced that the company will soon launch services in metropolitan areas including Chicago, Cleveland, Atlanta, Syracuse, and Boise. This expansion represents a sixfold increase from its current footprint, where it already operates in 10 cities across seven states. David Carbon, vice president of Prime Air at Amazon, stated that the company has the highest demand drone delivery service in the industry. While the service offers speedy deliveries, some residents have raised concerns regarding noise pollution and privacy. Amazon has responded by hosting community events, such as a meet-and-greet in Hanover County, to demonstrate the technology and address local concerns. The company aims to transform drone delivery into a critical part of its speedy delivery playbook, aiming for packages to arrive in approximately 60 minutes.
