Wisconsin ranks as the nation's beer capital in new study of consumer search interest
Wisconsin has been named the nation's beer capital for the second consecutive year, according to a new analysis of Google Trends search data. The study, conducted by Innerbody Research, examined 12 months of search data across all 50 states and Washington, D.C. to determine which states show the most interest in prominent beer brands. Wisconsin secured the top spot with a search-interest score of 98.53, followed by Wyoming in second place. Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa took the third, fourth, and fifth spots, respectively. The Midwest region, referred to as 'America's beer belt,' dominated the top of the rankings, with seven of the top 10 states appearing in the Midwest. Nationally, Michelob Ultra was identified as the most popular beer brand based on search interest, leading the rankings in Alabama, Nevada, and Oklahoma. Stella Artois was the most popular brand in 13 different states, including Arizona, Florida, and New York. The study noted that while search interest may be lower in some states, it does not necessarily reflect a lack of beer culture, as some regions with diverse craft brewing scenes may have fewer people searching for specific national brands.
