Phil Schiller is stepping down from his role as the head of the App Store and Apple events. This transition occurs as Tim Cook concludes his tenure as CEO, with John Ternus set to take over the top position on September 1st. Apple is restructuring its leadership by moving the App Store under the services division led by Eddy Cue. Carson Oliver will manage the day-to-day operations of the App Store, with Ann Thai and Alex Rofman reporting to him. Additionally, Nola Weinstein will lead the Apple events team, reporting to Kristin Huguet Quayle. Schiller joined Apple in 1987 and served as the company's marketing chief until 2020. During his tenure as head of the App Store, he managed developer relations, policy updates, and legal battles. Employees believe this move marks a significant step toward his eventual retirement.
